Commonplace Birthday Merits a Moonbeam

Just this morning I got word that Commonplace Birthday has won another prize! It received a Silver Medal for Picture Book in this year’s Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. This is the second Moonbeam awarded to a Dromedary Press title, following Pirate & Hoopoe’s Gold Medal Spirit Award last year.

I’m always delighted and honored when Dromedary books win recognition, and the Moonbeam is especially meaningful to me. In these uncertain times for book publishing as a whole, the Moonbeam organizers are strong supporters of independent publishing, and they also help foster a love of reading among children by donating each year’s submissions to libraries and charities.

You can check out this year’s list of winners on the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards page, and of course if you’d like to buy a copy of Commonplace Birthday it’s available through our Online Shoppe.
