Pirate & Hoopoe Wins a Gold Moonbeam Award

We announce with much excitement that Moonbeam Children's Book Awards has recognized Pirate & Hoopoe with the Gold Medal Spirit Award for Imagination!

Following in the tradition of Treasure Island and Robinson Crusoe, Pirate & Hoopoe is a 21st century adventure novel for readers of all ages. The book features twenty-two watercolor plates by Castle founder Karima Cammell, which served as the basis for the story written by her father, Diarmid Cammell. With its embossed cover, patterned endpapers, exquisite layout, and  full page watercolor illustrations; Pirate & Hoopoe upholds the tradition of the classic adventure novel with a rare artfulness in today's book world. Moonbeam created the Spirit Award as a way to recognize inspired writing, illustrating, and publishing. Pirate & Hoopoe's win recognizes that it truly stands in a class of its own.

Many thanks to the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards which celebrate outstanding children's books and garner recognition for their creators, as well as encourage a life-long love of reading through the support of childhood literacy.
